Robert's Favorite Books (in no specific order):

Young Readers
A Year Down Under,
Richard Peck

Richard Peck received a Newberry Honor for "A Long Way from Chicago" in 1998 with his heartwarming tale of the depression era and young city slickers visiting the indomitable Grandma Dowdel. His sequel "A Year Down Yonder" will touch the heart of young and old and is a home run for Peck. This 2001 Newberry Winner is a must read.

Adult Fiction
The Hearing,
John Lescroart

Fast moving, page grabber, up all night, are some the descriptions of Lescroart's newest read. When a rising star in San Francisco's legal firmament is found shot in a dark alley, a lethal web of political corruption, legal conspiracy and cold-blooded murder begins to unravel. In a case that will send shock waves through the city and echo in the private lives of its most prominent citizens. A rare insight into the criminal systems preliminary hearing process. There are two hero in this intriguing novel and only Lescroart could develop two characters and keep the balance.

Karen's Favorite Books (in no specific order):

"Twelve Gifts of Birth"
Charlene Costanza

"I Loved You Before You Were Born"
Anne Bowen

These two titles are my favorite baby shower gifts. The gentle, loving words and illustrations are warm and welcoming to the new family and little one. You can't start to soon to read that little one.

"Summer Light"
Luanne Rice
This is a great summer read. When reading this book I felt so many different things from laughter to tears . You join together a famous hockey player, single mom and a little girl with some psychic powers throw in an angel and what a story

"Warlock"
Wilbur Smith
This is a story of continuation from two earlier titles, "Seventh Scroll" and" River God". This story takes place in early Egypt. Give this author a try. His books are exceptional.

"Villa"
Nora Roberts
This story takes you to wine country and two rival families trying to survive. Ms. Roberts always delivers. She grabs you from the first page and away you go.

Jeff's Favorite Books (in no specific order):

Jurrasic Park
Crichton, Micheal
I originally read this before the movie, it is still an amazing book. I was most impressed by the depth to which Crichten explores survival.

Love You Forever
Munsch, R.
This is a children's story, it is the sweetest and most heartwarming book I have ever read. I look forward to sharing it with my children when they are older.

Kiss the Girls
Patterson, James
Excellent psycho-thriller. Patterson is an excellent suspense writer, highly recommended.

Pressed Fairy Book
Jones
Strange book, about a person who has spent a good part of their childhood to adult life squishing fairies in this album. This books publisher was purchased by Barnes & Noble and is only available through them now, and services such as UBC.

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
Martin
Children's story that is on my favorite list because it is one of my children's favorite books. I love to read this one to them.

Jason's Favorite Books (in no specific order):

Ubik
by Philip K. Dick
Lem (see below) called Dick "A Visionary Among the Charlatans" in large part due to this novel.

Solaris
by Stanislaw Lem
One of Lem's most interesting ideas, this book about first contact of sorts plays out much more convincingly on paper than in the Andrei Tarkovsky movie version.

Startide Rising
by David Brin
The best of the uplift novels, up there on my list with Dune and Foundation as one of Science Fiction's most interesting universes.

The Hobbit
by J. R. R. Tolkien
I could say the Lord of the Rings instead, but I don't think I've read any book more times than the Hobbit. I think I read this book eight times in a row when I was 10.
