How
do I place an order?
Ordering from Used Book Central is
very easy!
- From the search result page click
on the order button. This will add the item to your shopping
cart.
- You can reach your Shopping Cart
any time from the navigation bar at the top of each page.
- When you are ready to purchase,
click on the button labeled "Check Out" at the bottom
of your Shopping Cart. That will take you to your order form,
where you can fill in your information and then press "Send."
Please check your e-mail address carefully,
the bookseller may need to contact you about your order.

How
do I know my order was sent?
When your order is placed, you should
print your confirmation from Used Book Central, an e-mail will
also be sent. If you do not receive an e-mail, you may have entered
your e-mail address incorrectly. You may want to e-mail the dealer
to confirm they received your order. We recommend that you keep
a record of each bookseller you buy from until you receive the
book you requested.

Can
you appraise my books?
Used Book Central does not offer an
appraisal service. We only operate a system to bring booksellers
and buyers together. To appraise a book we suggest that you contact
one of our bookseller-subscribers who specializes in the kind
of books you have, and ask them to perform an appraisal for you.

Can
You Find a Book for Me?
Used Book Central does not find or
sell books, maps, manuscripts, periodicals, or ephemera. That
is left to our thousands of booksellers from around the world.
However, searches on Used Book Central are free, and you can conduct
your own searches on our Search
Page.
If the book for which you are looking
is not listed in Used Book Central, or if none of the available
copies is suitable for you, you can post
a wish, which will allow you to be automatically notified
by e-mail when the book enters Used Book Central's database.

Post
A Wish List: Finding Books That Are Not Listed (Customer)
If you are looking for a book that
is not currently listed in Used Book Central, you can post a wish
list. As soon as a dealer lists a copy of the book on Used Book
Central, you will be automatically alerted via e-mail that the
book is available. Used Book Central uses the same searching techniques
for our wish list by matching as we do in our general search,
resulting in much more flexible and effective wish matching. Thousands
of books are added to Used Book Central every day, and your want
will be matched against each new book.
To post a wish list:
- If the Search page returns results
but not the book you want, click on the wish list from the navigation
bar. If the Search page does not return any books, click on
the link on the navigation bar.
- In the Personal Wish List form,
fill in as much information as possible.
- Enter your e-mail address.
- Click "Place on Wish List." You
will be e-mailed when your wish is matched.
Note: When your wish is matched, it
will automatically be removed from your want list. If the e-mail
alert did not provide the book you were seeking, you should re-post
your wish. Top

Ordering
From A Wish list Notification (Customers)
When your book is matched in our database,
you will receive an e-mail with the following information:
The description of the book from
the dealer, price;
The Used Book Central web address where you can view the book(s)
which matched your book; and
The name and contact information of the dealer who is selling
his or her book.
To order the book, click on the web
address or copy it and paste it into your web browser. This
will take you to the Book Match Search Page, where you should
click "View Matches". Click on the box in front
of the book(s) you wish to purchase, and click the "Order"
button at the bottom of the page.
If the match did not return the book
you were looking for, you should re-post
your wish. (Note that once a wish list is matched, it is deleted
from our database.)

Re-Posting A Wish List (Customers)
Once a book has been matched for the
first time, it is deleted from our database. Therefore,
if you wish to continue to look for the book in question, you
will have to re-post your book.
You may repost a book by either:
1) Following the url address to
the Wish List Match page and clicking on "Resubmit Wish List";
or
2) Following the url address to
the Wish List Match page and clicking "View Matches".
Then scroll to the bottom of the search results page to the Your
Personal Want List box, and clicking on "Place on Wish List."
In both cases you should check the information in the search boxes.

search for your book, using our Search

Viewing
Your Wish List (Customers)
Users who are not subscribers to Used
Book Central cannot currently view their wish list. Please check
back for further developments!

Your Wish List (Dealers)
Users who are subscribers to Used
Book Central can post there wish list at no extra cost (other
than the monthly subscription fee), and can view their wish list
through their Dealer Administrative Pages. Members may add and
delete wishes at will.
